In a statement from the World Amateur Golf Ranking, EDGA has received some positive news.

“In January 2014 The European Disabled Golf Association approached The World Amateur Golf Ranking, with a request to help develop a system that eventually could be rolled out as a World Disabled Golf Ranking. We have been very pleased to advise and work with EDGA through each step and are very happy with the progress made in such a short time. We are continuing to work with EDGA as they take the next step to accept scores from non-EDGA events and eventually from WAGR approved events from qualifying players”. (WAGR 23.09.2015)

Algarve is the Official Golf Destination of EDGA

ATA logo-1The Algarve region of Portugal is now the ‘Official Golf Destination of EDGA‘ thanks to the work and support of the Association of Algarve Tourism (ATA).

The agreement builds on the already strong relationship, that was established following the inaugural Algarve Open for Golfers with Disability in 2014. Since then ATA has been supportive in helping with the 2015 season opener and will be the headline sponsor of the final event of the EDGA tournament series, taking place on November 19/20 at the Pestana Vila Sol resort

Screen Shot 2015-09-06 at 16.43.49During the week commencing 31st August 2015, EDGA received confirmation that our Trademark has been approved by the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market.

We now join organisations such as the European Golf Association, The European Tour, European Golf Course Owners Association and many other National Governing bodies in Golf. Vice President of EDGA Pieter van Duijn has been instrumental in driving the application through and has been continually updating the Executive Committee on its progress.

Online Entry Forms now available

Early in the 2015 season, we committed to developing an online tournament entry system to simplify the process for both player and organisers. We are delighted to announce that the first version of this form is now fully operational and currently being used for The EDGA Algarve Open.

The next stage of the development will be to fully integrate this with the existing player database and provide a FastTrack to the classifications process for non EDGA pass holders. When completed, the benefits of this system will also be available to organisers of all EDGA Badged tournaments.
