The young Frenchman Thomas, who is autistic, was more than ready to take this step after a number of recent international victories.<\/p>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20768 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/19828-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/19828-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/19828-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/19828-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/19828-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/19828.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>But Gross was only one of three scoring categories for this RSM supported event that through its innovative format blended the prestige of a European final (32 players took part from 14 countries) with a wonderful attribute for any international sporting spectacle \u2013 a balanced and highly inclusive set-up for all taking part. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20765 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20952-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20952-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20952-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20952-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20952-1536x1023.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.edgagolf.com\/profiles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20952.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>In this case, there were also \u2018Net\u2019 and \u2018Stableford\u2019 finals designed for the widest range of competitive golfers, both men and women, who may have physical, neurological, sensory and intellectual disabilities. The creation of an additional women\u2019s category (women can also qualify for the other finals) to ensure the growth of female participation at these Play-offs was also well received.<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Super-focused Colombel<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>For the determined Thomas Colombel, although he enjoys friendships with these players, his focus was on the silver plate, the Gross trophy. His mother, an avid golfer, introduced him to the sport, but he initially resisted, preferring more fast-paced activities like volleyball, motocross, and tennis. Reflecting on those early days, he admitted: \u201cI didn&#8217;t like it at all. I was just loving fun stuff and all the sports.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p>But between the ages of 10 and 12, something changed. As he began to excel, clinching a state championship title, he discovered a newfound love for the game. The constant mental activity often left him exhausted, as his brain never truly rested. Yet rather than viewing this as a limitation, Thomas embraced it. He secured six tournament victories and 15 top-three finishes in G4D events, solidifying his place among the world\u2019s elite. His consistency pushed him into the top 10 of the Gross WR4GD, a sure signal of his dedication and skill. &#8220;I feel like I&#8217;m quite good at figuring out what I&#8217;m doing right now,&#8221; he stated with characteristic humility.<\/p>\r\n<p>The 2024 RSM European Play-offs were a defining moment in his young career. Thomas displayed exceptional skill and mental resilience, ultimately claiming a well-deserved victory. This was his third EDGA tournament win of the year. Despite the competitive steel running through his veins, Thomas\u2019s smile was never far away, nor was his encouragement of all the players in the Gross, Net, Stableford and Women\u2019s categories. Thomas was a celebrated winner, with a good heart.<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>RSM promoting inclusivity and diversity<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>The tournament\u2019s inclusivity was striking, with participants facing a range of disabilities. Since 2019, RSM has been a cornerstone sponsor of EDGA, aligning with the firm\u2019s broader corporate and social responsibility initiatives. This commitment extends beyond sponsorship; the company\u2019s staff actively engages in promoting inclusivity and diversity within the sport.
