European Disabled Golf Association
European Team Championship 2015
The European Team Championship and The European Nations Cup
October 20-23 Malaga in Spain
Organised by The Royal Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG)
From 2015 the RFEG have adjusted the rules of the championships in such a way that the players should feel a “national team spirit” and there will now be two championships played, The European Team Championship and The European Nations Cup. Broadly speaking, the changes are as follows:
There will be two championships played simultaneously
• The European Team Championship will be played in the stroke play format
• The European Nations Cup will be played in the stableford format
Type of Competition
Both events will be played over three-days. The first day will be played in a foursomes format, the second day in a greensome format and the third day will be played in a individual format. All winning team players on the podium, for both events will receive a trophy or a medal.
Players and Teams
Each team will consist of four players all holding an EDGA Pass. Both championships have a maximum entry of 14 teams and in the case of more than 14 teams applying, preference will be given to those teams with the lowest sum of individual players handicap. The Championship Committee may accept more than 14 teams in either championship but with a maximum number of 112 players.
Malaga International, 5 minutes from the golf course / hotel by transfer.
Please Note: The organisation of The EDGA Team Championships will not exclusively rest with The Royal Spanish Golf Federation, and in the future another EDGA member could put in a request to organise these very important championships.
