Media Galleries

It has been said that a picture paints a thousand words. This may not always be true, but certainly in the history of mankind, never before has there been so many photographs taken and consumed in every minute of everyday. Today, easy to distribute video and audio files have added to the media offering and allow everyone, regardless of location to have the opportunity to “join” in with an event.

The media galleries which can be found here are designed to help the viewer easily navigate through a library of media. This is currently organised by selected videos, golfing event and by player.

Please enjoy our library which celebrates the activities and achievements of the players, officials and events that are part of the European Disabled Golf Association.

The EDGA 2014 European Individual Championship

in association with BALASA at Belton Woods, UK

Initially planned as a 54-hole event, sadly the rain stopped play on the second day, and subsequently the event was reduced to a 36-hole event with too many rounds on the Saturday not completed. However, this did not dampen the spirits of the competitors who all attended a gala dinner on the Saturday evening. Also in attendance was Douglas Herbert (R&A) and EDGA President Tony Bennett. See BALASA website for more details

The EDGA Algarve Open 2014

Villa Sol, Algarve, Portugal

The first EDGA Algarve Open, supported by the Association of Tourism Algarve, took place at the Pestana Vila Sol Golf Resort in Portugal. The tournament which took place on the 20th and 21st of November 2014, was the final event of the EDGA season and was keenly contested as the years final Order of Merit/Rankings would only be decided at the completion of play.

The tournament covered by Golfing World was particularly well received by the players who commented on the quality and challenge of the course, which previously hosted the Portugal Open on the European Tour. A warm reception was received from the Association of Tourism Algarve and the Pestana staff. The good weather and first class practice facilities, were according to many players. "just ideal" to close what has been a very good playing season

The EDGA Penina Open 2015

Penina Hotel & Golf Resort, Algarve, Portugal

The first EDGA Portugal Open, took place at the Penina Golf Resort in Portugal. The tournament which took place on the 19th and 20th of April 2015, was the opening event of the EDGA season. The Sir Henry Cotton Championship course, which has hosted ten Portuguese Opens on the European Tour, along with an Eisenhower Trophy (World Cup of Golf), was a fantastic test of golf for the competitors who had nothing but praise for the par 73 layout.

Open de France Handigolf 2015

Aa Saint-Ormer Golf Club, Acquin-Westbécourt, France

The tournament which took place between the 1st and 3rd of May 2015, was an EDGA premier event. A typical parkland golf course spanning two sides of the valley, Le Val is a cracking test of golf. The front 9 is very dramatic with sweeping holes that certainly demand your full attention. The back 9 is more wooded and demands precision play. Water comes into play throughout the round, requiring straight hitting and good course management.
